You are the Biggest Expert in Yourself

You are the biggest expert in yourself, and we can work together in a confidential and non-judgmental space, exploring whatever experiences and emotions you bring, to help you to feel empowered in making your own gradual discoveries and navigating your own path to change.

Therapy can feel scary, challenging, tiring and confronting, but it can also feel exhilarating, surprising, liberating, rewarding and life-changing.

Unfortunately though, the process doesn’t work like a magic wand; it can be subtle and gradual. I therefore aim to build a strong therapeutic relationship with you, to give you a sense of security, safety and trust in me, and in the therapeutic process. Eventually you may decide you no longer need my support, and choose to continue with your personal development on your own.

Sessions

Therapy is not the same as a two-way conversation, so it may take some getting used to.

The therapeutic space is yours, and I aim to be guided by you, giving you time to talk, think, feel and process. One of the things that makes therapy so special is that we rarely get this kind of self-dedicated space in our busy daily lives.

We will only take the sessions as far as you feel ready to go; you can choose how long you want to have sessions for, if you want a break period, and when you want them to end.

Psychodynamic Psychotherapy

As a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist, I may explore the influence past relationships and experiences have had on you emotionally, practically, professionally and in subsequent relationships. By unearthing and exploring links between the past and later consistent or current struggles, I hope to help you to understand the complexities of your life's emotional, relational and behavioural patterns, and potentially support you in making changes.

There are many different types of psychotherapy and counselling. For many people the type doesn’t matter, but for others it is important, so here are some links detailing my Psychodynamic approach:
